In the year, 2020....

Twenty-Nineteen was a year of accomplishment.
In addition to my "leadering" role at work, I decided to after decades within IT focus on obtaining a few industry certifications. I've never been one to put much stock in them, but there were some good incentives to push me along the path.
Now that I hold a few, I have found them to help boost some of my self-esteem and can combat a bit of imposter syndrome that I feel oftentimes.
In 2019, I obtained three AWS certifications:
- AWS DevOps Engineer - Professional
- AWS Developer - Associate
- AWS Solutions Architect - Assocaite
In 2020, there are a few that I'd like to focus on too:
- CompTIA CySA+
- CompTIA Pentest+
- CompTIA CASP+
- CISSP and/or CEH
Hopefully you can see a trend here.
Information security has always been a passion of mine. One problem is that while I have spent 20+ years in IT roles, ranging from technical to management, I do not have the background to convience myself that I should be a "security professional".
